Welcome to Macedon Ranges Futsal

Welcome

Welcome to the website for Macedon Ranges Futsal (MRF). We are a volunteer run not-for-profit association. Our purpose is to organise and promote futsal in the Macedon Ranges area of Victoria. This includes providing a fun, safe and inclusive competition and a weekend skill development program for young players (our Skillz program). We also provide opportunities for young people to develop refereeing and coaching skills and a pathway to higher level competition through our Bushrangers representative teams for those with the aptitude and interest.

UPDATES FOR 2024 WINTER SEASON

Macedon Ranges Futsal has experienced unprecedented growth over the last two seasons, growing to a competition with over 100 teams now participating. As we move into our upcoming 2024 Winter Season, all indications are that this trend will continue to grow.

We were all excited for the planned three court stadium (Regional Sports Hub) being developed in New Gisborne which we anticipated will take the pressure off our squeeze for court space locally. Unfortunately, this stadium will not be ready for use for our upcoming winter season, posing some significant short-term challenges for our association.

Macedon Ranges Futsal is a not-for-profit community organisation who prides itself on providing affordable and accessible sport for members of the Macedon Ranges community. We are an inclusive sport and intend to welcome all members who would like to participate. However, we have had to make the difficult decision to cap our teams for the upcoming Winter season. We understand that this will be disappointing news for many members of our community (including us) but we have exhausted all of our options to access court space and we have no other option but to cap team entries for the Winter Season.

What does this mean?

·       Teams who participated in our 2023/24 Summer Comp will have first priority to register for the 2024 Winter Season.

·       New teams wishing to participate can go on a waitlist and will be notified if we have space for them this season.

·       This is a temporary solution and we are confident that we will have access to the Sports Hub in October for our Summer Season.

Existing teams will be sent registration information in the coming weeks, please stay tuned for details.

New teams wishing to go on a waitlist are asked to email our competition coordinator Amanda at mrfutsalcompetitioncoordinator@gmail.com.

Please include the following information in your email:

Subject line – New Team

Email body – Include the name of your team, the age group and the names of players you have who are committed.

*Please ensure that only the team manager sends this email. Individuals wanting to participate must find a team first.

We will then notify team managers on a first-come first-served basis and subject to court availability if we can fit you in.

We thank you for your understanding as we navigate this difficult period and we look forward to welcoming new teams for our 2024/25 Summer Season in October.
